Azienda Agricola COS was founded in 1980 by Giambattista Cilia, Giusto Occhipinti, and Cirino Strano. They follow biodynamic viticulture and were among some of the first of modern winemakers to start experimenting with clay amphorae--neutral vessels that do not add any characteristic flavor to the resulting wines. The COS Frappato is light, energetic, and easy drinking with mineral-tinged red raspberry and strawberry with hints of rose and savory tones.
