Falling more into the old school Gouges style, this is fairly backwards now between its reserved fruit character and grippy tannins. It smells of drying plums, licorice, grilled toast and savory spice. The medium body does show nice acidic verve and the long, minerally finish shows good promise down the road. 2025-40. (CC)
