Opaque ruby. Heady with a highly expressive, enveloping nose. Holder jumps from the glass with bright cherry, orange peel, peonies and wild herb. It is a juicy wine with a rush of flavors fanning out on the palate, washing in waves through the finish. A little time and air fully expresses the complexity and explosive nature resulting from whole clusters of tiny, concentrated berries. This 1.8 acre site farmed by the two owners Bruce and Mary Ann, shows the pleasure and singular quality of wines from the ridges around Occidental.
